IV drip rate (gtt/min)
gtt/min = (Volume × Drop factor) ÷ Time (min)
1000 mL over 8 hr with 15 gtt/mL tubing: (1000 × 15) ÷ 480 = 31.25 ≈ 31 gtt/min.
IV flow rate (mL/hr)
mL/hr = Volume (mL) ÷ Time (hr)
1000 mL over 8 hr: 1000 ÷ 8 = 125 mL/hr.

Milligrams to micrograms
1 mg = 1000 mcg
1 mg = 1000 mcg. Multiply milligrams by 1000 (move the decimal three places right).
Micrograms to milligrams
1 mcg = 0.001 mg
1000 mcg = 1 mg. Divide micrograms by 1000 (move the decimal three places left).
Grams to milligrams
1 g = 1000 mg
1 g = 1000 mg. Multiply grams by 1000.
